Job Description:

The Need Focal Person will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing the urgent needs of individuals and communities within the Jijiga Somali state. This position involves:

  1. Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to identify the most pressing needs of the target population, including food security, shelter, healthcare, education, and other essential services.
  2. Community Engagement: Building strong relationships with local communities, government officials, and partner organizations to understand their specific needs and priorities.
  3. Program Development: Assisting in the development and implementation of targeted programs and initiatives to address identified needs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and goals.
  4. Resource Allocation: Coordinating the effective allocation of resources, including financial aid, supplies, and services, to meet the immediate needs of vulnerable individuals and communities.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking the progress of implemented programs and initiatives, evaluating their effectiveness, and making recommendations for improvement.
  6. Reporting: Preparing regular reports on the needs assessment process, program activities, and outcomes to inform decision-making and ensure accountability.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in social work, international development, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in needs assessment, community development, or humanitarian aid.
  3. Strong understanding of the social and economic challenges facing communities in the region.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Fluency in English, Somali and Amharic
  7. Female candidates are encouraged
